There’s something particularly satisfying about pulling freshly baked baguettes from the oven.
This set gives the recipient a sourdough culture to wake, keep and bake with for years. The reusable tray makes it easier to create neatly shaped baguettes, while the jar provides a permanent home for their starter.
The first bake is only the beginning. The same starter can go on to make loaves, focaccia, pizza, bagels and much more.
40g dried white sourdough starter – a reliable culture that becomes active once fed with flour and water
80g organic strong white bread flour – enough for the first two starter feeds
Non-stick baguette baking tray – supports and separates the dough while it bakes
10g sea salt – measured for the first bake
750ml–1L glass Mason jar – a practical home for feeding and storing the starter; the design may vary
Reusable bamboo stirrer – for mixing the starter during feeds
Sourdough care guide – accessed by QR code, with clear instructions for waking and maintaining the starter
Additional strong bread flour and water will be needed to make the baguettes.
The set breaks the process into manageable steps.
The recipient begins by waking the dried starter in the supplied jar. Once it is active, they can prepare their dough and use the shaped tray to support the baguettes as they bake.
No previous bread-making experience is needed. Our online guides and sourdough support are also available if they need help along the way.
The kit arrives carefully packed in recyclable gift packaging.
Because the starter is supplied dried, it requires no refrigeration and can wait until the recipient is ready to begin. This makes it a practical gift to buy ahead for birthdays, Christmas, weddings, housewarmings or anyone who enjoys baking.
Free tracked UK delivery is included, and no prices are placed inside a parcel sent directly to the recipient.
The first baguettes are only the beginning.

What our customers say
Purchased as a birthday gift so I can’t comment on the quality of the sourdough ingredients themselves, but the physical contents seem great and the delivery was very timely. I’m sure it’ll be much appreciated. Thank you!
